Temperature and Humidity Chamber

Thermoline RH series precision controlled temperature and humidity chambers are economically designed to provide accurate temperature and humidity conditions for laboratory testing or storage of product.
By applying ”Dew Point” and “Dry Bulb” principals of Psychrometry, a water trough system with stainless steel cooling and heating components allows a simple system to provide excellent stability for short term or long term maintenance free periods of testing.

 

 

 

FOUR MODELS 150, 300, 460 and 850 Litre capacities. All four models operate through a temperature range of +10ºc to +60ºc and humidity of 10% to 95% RH (see control envelope). Control stability is ± 0.1ºc for temperature and ±2% RH for humidity. Optional temperature range to +80ºc, (solid door only).


CABINET CONSTRUCTION Interiors are all stainless steel construction. Many environments operating within these chambers are highly corrosive, therefore all materials and components inside the test chamber are of high grade stainless steel including cooling coils and heating elements. Cabinets are insulated with 75mm thick insulation and finished externally in PVC coated steel providing a durable, attractive exterior surface. Refrigeration and electrical components are located in the top section of the cabinet, with water inlet pipework and drains are in the bottom section. All models are available with triple glazed self closing hinged doors with magnetic gaskets, positive door latch, castors for ease of mobility and a 13mm diameter port at the left side.


AIR FLOW Air is circulated by a centrifugal fan located at the top of the work chamber. This fan is driven by a fan motor located outside the chamber and therefore not effected by the test conditions, ensuring a long service life. Air flows from the fan, down a rear duct over the water trough and up through the work area returning to the fan inlet at the ceiling.


TEMPERATURE CONTROL The desired temperature is set and displayed on a digital solid state controller.
Temperature is achieved by the cooling and heating components located in the air stream. Cooling is provided by an air cooled sealed type refrigeration unit located in the top section of the cabinet, using environmentally friendly R134a refrigerant. In addition to the main temperature controller three mechanical thermostats are fitted to provide product and equipment protection. One thermostat is operator adjusted to protect against over temperature in the workspace and the others are factory set as heating element safety cut outs.


HUMIDITY CONTROL The desired humidity is also set and displayed on a digital solid state controller. Humidity control is achieved by controlling dew point temperature of the water against the dry bulb temperature of the circulating air. (see control envelope for operating range). A water source and drain are required for these models.
Water can be from a mains supply or a gravity feed system where an elevated water container is located close to the cabinet. Water quality is not critical so this style of cabinet is ideal for use where the water quality might be questionable.


SHELVING Stainless steel open wire shelves are provided. These can be easily adjusted or removed.
